On September 3, 2025, the “2025 China-LAC Technology Cooperation Development Conference” was grandly held in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, hosted by the China–Latin America and Caribbean Technology Transfer Center (“China–LAC Technology Transfer Center”). Lawyer Zhou Shichao, Executive Director and Senior Partner of Landing (Shenzhen) Law Offices, was invited as a guest speaker and delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Pathways and Legal Risk Management for Chinese Enterprises Going Global in Latin America.”

Background of the Event

The China–Latin America and Caribbean Technology Transfer Center, approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, is the only national-level transnational technology transfer institution dedicated to cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean.

To advance the China–LAC Forum’s vision of promoting “a comprehensive cooperative partnership for equality, mutual benefit, and shared development,” and to implement China’s initiative of building “a community with a shared future between China and Latin America,” the Center — under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, and in cooperation with the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and the China Science and Technology Exchange Center — held the China–LAC Technology Cooperation and Development Forum and China–LAC Trading Platform Launch in Dongguan and Guangzhou from September 1 to 4, 2025.

With the theme “Innovation-Driven Cooperation: Building the Digital Economy Future Together,” the event focused on key areas such as digital education, trade and investment, and technology transfer, attracting government representatives, experts, and leading enterprises from China and multiple Latin American countries.At the conference, the “China–Latin America and Caribbean Trading Platform” was officially launched, marking a new digital and platform-based era of economic cooperation between China and Latin America.
